Welcome to NCREEA.com, home of the North Carolina Real Estate Educators Association.  This site is designed to help instructors and students connect with the goal of raising the bar for real estate education in North Carolina.  In addition, this site is used by the NC Real Estate Commission, as they direct students here for preparation for the North Carolina real estate exam.

Explore the site and enjoy the “Articles” section as we update information throughout the state that is pertinent to licensees and instructors alike.  If you have any suggestions for articles or would like to submit an article to be published, please email me by clicking here.  We will review the article and let you know if we feel it is appropriate for posting.

According to Article XIII Section 2 of our current Bylaws, we must give a minimum of 30 days notice of any proposed changes to the Bylaws of NCREEA.

What you might not know about TRID by Jim Garrison

  • A Buyer’s signature on the Loan Estimate is not a commitment to proceed
  • Loan application acronym is PENCIL
    • P- Property address (even just the zip code qualifies)
    • E- Estimated Value
    • N- Name
    • C- Credit Report (pulled using social security number)
    • I- Income
    • L- Loan Amount
  • If a creditor has 5 of 9 numbers in a person’s social security number that creditor can contribute to the person’s report
  • Pre-Qualification and Pre-Approval Letters from a lender are now defined by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
  • In order to issue a Pre-Approval letter, a lender must have full commitment for the loan.
  • Lender cannot put the address on a Pre-Qualification letter.
  • HUD now allows partial payments on FHA loan payoffs as opposed to a full 30 day payment
  • New rules could affect  sale of HUD homes since HUD requires a pre-approval letter before making a bid
  • Quirk in loan estimate software: Gift funds will reduce the cash to close
  • TIP= Total Interest Percentage

2015 Real Estate Closing Documents HUD Forms provided by NCREEA

Board of Directors Meeting Blog- Greensboro, NC October 24, 2014

Follow our blog today to get updates on the discussions that the Board of Directors is having and any votes that are taken.

 

  • In a unanimous vote, the BOD has agreed to raise the annual membership dues for NCREEA to $40 per year. This fee will begin with the 2015 membership renewals.
  • The tentative dates of the 2015 fall conference are October 1, 2015 and October 2, 2015 at the Marriott South Park in Charlotte, NC.  Please go ahead and save that date on your calendars.
  • Renewals for the 2015 year will only be done electronically with link sent to the membership in the late spring.
  • Registration for the 2015 fall conference will be done on-line only.
  • Created a “New Member Checklist” to systematize the processing
  • Creation of a “Donation Receipt” for when an organization or individual makes a donation to NCREEA for door prizes, etc.

This video is designed to help instructors and schools manage their continuing education schedule so that it is available to all students throughout the state.  Make sure you have your courses scheduled with the NC Real Estate Commission before you start advertising it.
